What is Fascial Stretch Therapy?

Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST) is an assisted stretch technique that is administered by a Fascial Stretch Therapist. FST targets both the muscles and the connective tissue that surrounds the muscles, bones and joints. It targets the entire joint capsule to increase mobility of the joint. How is Fascial Stretch Therapy different from traditional stretching?

FST differs from traditional stretching because it allows you to move into and out of the stretch with the help of the therapist. Stabilizing straps are used on the limb or part of the body that is not being manipulated to enhance effectiveness of the stretch. The stretching will move the arms, legs, spine, and neck through varying planes of movement.
