Welcome Back to Bar1s Urban Fitness + Re-Opening Procedures.

To our Bar1s Urban Fitness members,

We are excited to welcome you back to Bar1s Urban Fitness!

We are committed to providing you with a safe environment that aligns with expert protocols for working to defeat COVID-19.

We believe in the positive impact that exercise has on our overall well-being & immune system. We consulted with local public health authorities to plan our re-opening strategy to ensure a continued focus on the health and safety of our members and staff.

So, what are we doing to ensure that both members and staff feel comfortable and safe upon their return?

Cleanliness + Disinfecting Using Top Grade Disinfectant.

  • We have enhanced our sanitation and cleaning protocols to comply with the health authority recommendations.

  • We invested in 2 medical grade Electrostatic Sprayers along with Vital Oxide hospital grade disinfectant. This will allow us to get into every area of the gym floor. The disinfectant is very safe for use around people and kills 99.99% of all pathogens. The Electrostatic sprayer charges the mist with electrons allowing it to cling to the top and bottom of all surfaces sprayed. This will be used to disinfect the equipment and machines on the gym floor and also, the change rooms and high touch areas in the gym.

  • On the gym floor, you will find many disinfectant spray bottles filled with OXY-Q, another hospital grade disinfectant.

  • We continue to implement cleaning checklists, which we have had in place since the first day we opened Bar1s Urban Fitness.

Floor Plan, Distancing, Partitions, Signage

  • Guided markers on the floors and walls have been added to remind our members to maintain a physical distance of 2 meters (6ft) at all times while in the gym.

  • We have installed Plexiglas partitions throughout the gym; dividing cardio and strength training equipment to provide added protection and privacy to members, as well as reception when you check-in.

  • We have outlined workout zones in the free weight area with fluorescent orange markers.

  • We feel confident in our members and believe we will be able to maintain proper physical distancing with use of machines and equipment inside the gym.

  • To assist with physical distancing, we are limiting and monitoring the number of people in the gym.

  • Finally, we have added additional signage as reminders to continue cleaning equipment before and after each use with disinfectant throughout the gym.

Hand Sanitizer

  • Please sanitize your hands upon entry and before starting your workout.

  •  Remember to wash your hands with soap and water in the change rooms.

  • You will find hand sanitizing stations installed and placed throughout the gym upon entry.

Booking System:

We will be utilizing the MINDBODY app to allow gym members to book their spot in the gym to workout and to judge how much traffic there is in the gym presently and at their desired workout time. This will also allow us to maintain a consistent cleaning schedule to ensure we are taking all necessary safety precautions to keep members and staff safe.

Please note, this applies to GYM members using the open gym floor, not personal training,  FST or group training clients.

  • Please download the MINDBODY APP on your smartphone and search for

Bar1s Urban Fitness to book your gym time.

  • If you don't have a smartphone, call the gym for booking, or try walking in to see how the traffic is before coming in to work out.

  • All workout times will be 75 minutes, giving members ample time to workout and change if necessary.

**We, at Bar1s, want to work with you but have to take extra safety precautions during this time.**

  • Upon entry of the building, we ask that you have your mask on; it can be taken off when entering the gym floor for your workout. It is your personal choice whether you want to wear a mask while working out or not, as long as it does not restrict your breathing/airway. Upon leaving the gym floor and entering the change room, masks should be put back on.

  • You will be able to check-in with no contact using your key fob entry. If you do not have a key fob, please ask a member of our Team and they will get you one.

  • Staff members will also be able to check you in manually on the computer system.

  • All members will be required to sign a COVID-19 waiver before their first gym workout, personal training session, FST session,  group training session.

  • Please come to the gym prepared to workout.

  • Change rooms and showers are available but limited if needed.

  • We limited the number of lockers to be used in the change room for physical distance.

  • Upon leaving the change room, please keep your locker door open so Team members know which locker was used so they can properly disinfect the area.

  • Towel service is available if needed and please remember to place soiled towels in the towel basket prior to leaving the club. We encourage you to use your towel on the equipment during your exercise.

  • Blow dryers and fans are not permitted at this time.

  • Please bring your own water, as our water station will be available only for fill ups. You may also purchase water bottles from reception.

  • Be mindful of others, reduce contact and maintain physical distance.

  • If someone is using a machine next to where you’d like to be, use proper gym etiquette. Wait your turn; once they finish and clean their equipment, you are good to go.

  • During the transition, we will still be offering smoothies, as well as espressos, cappuccinos, and lattes.

We are confident our members will be able to maintain proper physical distancing throughout the club.

The above changes will help us all stay committed to having a healthy and safe community.

We invite all of you to provide any additional comments/ thoughts as this is a team effort and we welcome any feedback.

We are excited to get back at it and hope to see you all very soon. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email
